Bopal is a well-known residential locality in
Ahmedabad, which was granted a municipality status in February, 2015. Previously a part of
Ahmedabad rural, this area will now be governed by an administrator. In the last 5 to 7 years, it has witnessed a significant growth, especially in terms of infrastructure.
Connectivity
A BRTS route is being built, which will run from
Bopal-
Ambli Road to
Ghuma via Bopal Cross Roads. Since the last decade or so, many new properties have come up in the vicinity. The hotspot of this locality is the south
Bopal area, while the north Bopal area, often termed as the Chocolate Road, passes through
Bopal Lake, DPS, Indian Space Research Organization Colony, GEB Electrical Supply Office, and is finally connected to
Shela Road.
The locality also boasts of smooth connectivity to prime areas such as
Vatva,
Thaltej,
Nava Naroda,
Makarba,
Bavla, Vaishno I Circle,
Nana Chiloda, and the
SG Highway, amongst others. The Gala-Gymkhana Road is another chief road in the locality, besides the Chocolate Road. Due to high traffic in the main road connecting
Ghuma and
Bopal with SP Singh Road, the AUDA has announced the construction of a flyover on SP Singh Road at the
Bopal Cross Roads.

In recent years, there has been a considerable rise in demand for villas, apartments, and residential plots in this area. Most of the emerging properties are now connected with drainage line, along with the construction of rain water pipeline. The initiative of widening the roads in
Bopal was also taken up by AUDA. There are several builders who have started their projects in this area and real estate has got a major boost in recent times.
