The Villa dates from 1770 and on the front of the house there is a coat of arms showing the lily, the symbol of the City of Florence. This is an indication of the importance of the building, which was constructed by a high-standing prelate member of the Franchi family from Lucca; the building includes an annex which houses an Oratory dedicated to Saint Agatha.
