Water catchment is relatively inexpensive and the best way to store water. A few people in that area will deliver you water, or you can buy water at the lodge.    The Lodge is about 16 miles to the east on a paved county road for all but 3 miles. The main office, swimming pool, cabins, RV & Tent camping, "Bad Rabbit Cafe," and even a dirt strip for fly-in guests. The main office has a knowledgeable and friendly staff. They do not show properties or sell properties. The ranch sold out in the late '60s and early '70s. The ranch has a road fee of $219.26 for 2024, which helps to keep the road equipment up and running.  We will not sell your property without going through the title company. Closings can take as much as 45 days and, depending on the research, could take longer. You do not have to be here for the final closing, as FedEx and wire transfers do most of the work. Closing dates are target dates only.  We prefer to walk you through any property we have for sale. So verbal offers are not encouraged. Putting your feet on it helps you make the right decision on whether it will work for what you want or not. This high country desert is far from any large city, so plan to come and stay a few days if possible. The nearest airports are El Paso or Midland, Texas, about a 3-hour drive from Alpine. Amtrack Train comes through Alpine, so perhaps a train ride is in your plans. We have a Lowe's Grocery here in Alpine that stocks almost everything you might need- Not an HEB, but a great grocery store.
