Doddaballapur is a town located around 40km from Bangalore towards the north on the Bangalore-Hindupur State Highway (SH-9). Initially a town in the outskirts of the city, it later on came under the rural district. It was once famous for silk-weaving. It also houses a large number of industries in the vicinity, besides several families which depend on power looms. It is surrounded by residential localities such as Kundana, Mallohalli, Thimmasandra, Konaghatta, and Varadanahalli. The BIAL IT Investment Region is one of the several IT parks and office complexes that are coming up in and around Doddaballapur.

Connectivity

The area promises a well-integrated network of roads and railways to its residents. A major road connects this area to Bangalore. a number of BMTC buses ply through this locality, further enhancing its connectivity. They originate from the Kempegowda Bus Station and reach this part of the town at frequent intervals. The railway station is just 7 minutes via the Darjipet Road and the HAL International Airport is 52.2km via SH 9.

Real estate

With numerous IT parks and office complexes cropping up nearby, the scope for job opportunities has increased manifold. This, in turn, has escalated the demand for property in this area. The planned peripheral Ring Road, the proposed Information Technology Investment Region (ITIR) and the Aerospace Park near the airport have collectively contributed in making this area a much coveted residential destination. There are many ongoing projects here, and some are nearing completion.

Doddaballapur Road hosts several well-known educational institutions in the vicinity such as MSV Public School, Devala Maharshi School, Vogue Institute of Fashion Technology, MES Pharmacy College, Saraswathi School, Lavanya B.ed College, Vidyanidhi PU College, Government PU College, etc.
Ashwini Hospital, Primary Health Care Centre, Government Hospital, etc. are some of the finest hospitals in and around the area. The reputed banks that have their respective branches here, include State Bank of India, ICICI Bank, Corporation Bank, and State Bank of Mysore.
The presence of other basic social amenities like ATMs, bus stops, petrol pumps etc. also add to the social infrastructure of the area.
