When Hyderabad metro rail is completed, it is expected to carry 1.5 million passengers, raising real estate prices in areas around metro transit corridors.

The Telangana governor maintains law and order in the city. Each zone in the city has a deputy police commissioner. Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority plans and orchestrates development in the city, and has authority over bodies like the HMWSSB.

Nearly 1.5 million people in the city work in the IT industry, according to some estimates. The Andhra Pradesh state government has been implementing policies intended to facilitate industrial growth, and this is an important factor that drives the growth of the economy of Hyderabad.
